Apple Walnut Roll

Apple Sauce
Apple Sauce

Apples (peeled, cored and diced) - 500g
Brown sugar - 150g (30% of total apples)
Lemon Juice - 30g
Brandy (optional) - 20g (can be replaced with cinnamon for different taste)

  1. Put all ingredients in a pot, cover and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, until apples are soft.  
  2. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork. (I skipped this steps, for this Apple Roll recipe)
  3. Delicious with vanilla ice cream.

Apple Roll

1 egg + water - 1 cup
Butter - 1/4 cup (about 30g)
Brown Sugar - 1/3 cup
Salt - 1 tsp
Bread Flour - 3 and 1/2 cups
Yeast - 1 and 1/2 tsp

Program: Bread - 10 - Dough

Method: Please follow below

1st & 2nd knead - 25 mins to get this smooth dough

1st rise - after 60 mins

Punch out the excess air, roll the dough into rectangle shape. Spread some apple sauce and sprinkle with chopped walnut

Roll up the dough

 Cut into 9 equal portions, arrange on a greased cake pan.  Set aside for 2nd rice for 30 minutes.  Brush with egg wash

 Bake at 180C for about 25-30 minutes.

Remove from oven, brush with melted butter and liquid from apple sauce to give extra taste to the roll
